Jungle swings, nests and glass platforms above the Ayung valley
Bali’s jungle swings are now a small industry, and the quality varies enormously. Some sites are professionally run with certified harnesses and genuine cliff-edge drops; others are a rope on a tree charging the same price for a view of a car park.
We drive to these places several times a week and will tell you straight which one matches what you want — the biggest drop, the shortest queue, the best photos with your own camera, or the gentlest option for nervous first-timers and children.
A swing stop pairs naturally with Ubud, the rice terraces or a waterfall, so this is usually a half-day charter with the rest of the day open. Your driver waits with the car, holds your bags and reorders the route around the weather and the crowds.
The most photogenic all-rounder. Seven swings at different heights over the Blangsinga river gorge, plus bird’s-nest platforms, a bamboo bridge and free dress rental. Staff take photos with your own phone, so you do not have to buy a package.
The original and the largest site: single and tandem swings up to 78 metres above the Ayung river, a glass platform, cliff nests and an infinity pool. Best for the genuine adrenaline drop, and the busiest — go early.
Quieter and cheaper, with a coconut-tree swing looking straight down a jungle valley and almost no queue before 09:00. Our pick for travellers who want the photo without the theme-park feel.
A rope swing over the valley with Mount Agung on the horizon on a clear morning, attached to a rustic bamboo house. Small, intimate, and photographers love it.
Up north near Lake Buyan: nests, wooden hands, a giant ship’s bow and swings framing the twin lakes. Perfect if you are already heading to Munduk or the north waterfalls.
A guide, not a timetable. Your driver reshapes the order around the weather, the crowds and how you are feeling on the day.
08:00
Early pickup from your hotel or villa. Leaving before 08:00 from the south is the single best thing you can do for your photos and your patience.
09:00
A short stop at Tegallalang or a quieter local terrace on the way up, while the morning mist is still sitting in the valley.
09:45
Arrive at your chosen swing park. Check in, harness briefing, dress rental if you want one, then 60–90 minutes of swings, nests and platforms.
11:30
Optional stop at a local plantation to walk the spice garden and taste 12–14 Balinese coffees and teas. No pressure to buy anything.
12:30
Lunch at a restaurant with a jungle or rice-field view near Ubud, chosen to suit your budget and any dietary requirements.
14:00
Add Tegenungan or Leke Leke waterfall, a second swing site, or the Ubud Monkey Forest and art market — your call on the day.
16:00
Drive back south, or straight to Ubud centre if you want to stay for dinner and make your own way home later.
Cliff-edge nests are usually included with a swing ticket.
Full harness and double carabiners at every reputable site.
Tandem swings at Bongkasa — up to 78 metres above the river.
Wanagiri Hidden Hills, on the way to Munduk.
Good to know
The questions our guests ask most about this trip, answered honestly rather than optimistically.
At the established parks, yes. You wear a full body harness clipped with two independent carabiners, the ropes and steel fixings are inspected regularly, and a trained operator controls every push. The genuine risk is at unlicensed roadside swings with a single rope and no harness — we do not take guests to those.
Most parks set a limit of about 100–120 kg per person for single swings and roughly 150 kg combined for tandem swings. There is no height limit. If you are close to the limit, message us before booking and we will confirm with the specific park.
Children from around 5 years old can ride tandem with a parent at most sites, and some have smaller, lower swings just for kids. Under-5s usually cannot be harnessed safely. The nests and photo platforms have no age limit and children generally love them just as much.
Tickets are paid on site and range from about IDR 150,000 per person at smaller sites to IDR 500,000–800,000 at the large parks with multiple swings, nests and a pool. Our charter price covers the car, driver, fuel and parking — not the tickets, so you are free to choose the package you actually want.
For all-round photos and value, Aloha Ubud. For the biggest adrenaline drop and the most variety, Bali Swing at Bongkasa. For quiet and cheap, Uma Pakel. For north Bali lake views, Wanagiri. Tell your driver what matters most to you and he will route the day accordingly.
No. At every site we visit, staff will happily take photos and video with your own phone or GoPro, and they are surprisingly good at it. The paid packages add a professional camera and edited images, which is worth it for some couples and unnecessary for most.
We advise against it. The harness sits across the abdomen and the swing involves sudden acceleration. Please enjoy the nests, platforms and bamboo bridges instead, which give nearly the same views with none of the jolt.
Operators pause the swings during heavy rain or lightning for safety, then restart once it passes, which is usually within the hour. Your driver will watch the radar and shuffle the itinerary — coffee plantation or lunch first, swings after — so the day rarely gets written off.
Send a WhatsApp message to +62 852 3773 9888 with your date, hotel or villa area, number of passengers and the tour you want. You get a fixed quote back, usually within 15 minutes. No deposit and no credit card are needed — you pay the driver in cash or by bank transfer on the day of the trip.
Yes. Every driver speaks conversational English, and we have drivers who speak Japanese (日本語対応). Japanese-speaking drivers are a smaller team, so please mention it when you book so we can reserve the right person for your date.
Pickup and drop-off are included from Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Canggu, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Denpasar and Ubud. Pickups from Uluwatu, Amed, Candidasa, Lovina or Munduk are possible with a small surcharge for the extra distance — just ask when you book.
Bali rain usually passes within an hour, so we simply reorder the stops and wait it out somewhere dry rather than cancel. For airport pickups we track your flight number and wait free of charge if you land late. Cancelling for genuine bad weather or a missed flight carries no fee.
